Join us as the Head of Sourcing and Distribution as our Head of Sourcing and Distribution at FarmLink, where you’ll lead the charge in procuring and selling fresh fruits, focusing on pomegranates, apples, and seasonal varieties, both domestic and imported. This pivotal role requires a robust network spanning sourcing locations and the fresh supply chain, coupled with the skills to distribute products across multiple channels, including wholesale, modern trade, general trade, and our FarmLink app. With a primary objective of expanding our burgeoning Fresh businesses, you’ll forge strong synergies in sourcing and selling to drive remarkable growth. This role offers a unique opportunity for P&L responsibility within a startup environment, allowing you to make a significant impact on the Agri Ecosystem.
Overview
As the National leader in sourcing, supply chain, and sales of domestic and imported fruits, you’ll drive development in sourcing and distribution networks, product promotion, and new product development, contributing to the overall success of the Innoterra group.
Responsibilities
- Work with all suppliers to source the best quality fresh produce in compliance with Food Sector requirements.
- Research, identify and develop relationships with new sources of suppliers for the company that meet criteria (quality, price, sustainability, payment terms, etc).
- Manage inventory levels and ensure proper coverage based on the forecasts.
- Report on key performance indicators and look for ways to improve week over week.
- Create and keep updated the different product specifications, seasonality, for all different varieties and the commercial characteristics.
- Create and keep updated with the customer requirements in relation with the fresh product category products.
- Carrying out market and trend analyses, product range designs, development and quality improvement of the product portfolio based on current trends.
- Develop business with unorganized & organized retail Pan India for fruits.
- Building, managing and engaging a distribution network for fresh fruits. Responsible for new business development, negotiations and commercial contracts in line with proposed budgeted growth.
- Build and lead a sales team, train them and align them in delivering targets for product groups across seasons.
- Understand market trends, pricing, and quality of produce.
- Negotiate and set up contracts and agree on KPIs and manage market outstandings.
- P&L accountability with superlative growth expectations.
- Improve the productivity of the sourcing and sales teams by identifying and filling the current training gaps and performance management systems.
- Build a sustainable and scalable sourcing and sales network.
Requirement & Skills
- A minimum of 15 years’ experience in sourcing of domestic and imported fruits especially Pomegranates and Apples.
- Experience in the Agri-supply chain and Bulk sales in Wholesale channel is a must.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of product seasonality, as well as trends in varieties, product development and packaging.
- Strong networking skills and willingness to initiate engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking ability and creative development to bring breakthrough ideas to build brand in market.
- Ability to scale business exponentially.
- Experience in a multicultural environment is a plus.
