You will manage the procurement of perishables and fresh fruits across domestic locations, ensuring timely sourcing and supply. Additionally, you will coordinate with vendors, monitor inventory levels, and support day-to-day facility operations to maintain smooth and efficient processes.
Overview
As a Procurement Manager – Perishables, you will be responsible for managing the sourcing of domestic fruits. You will lead vendor selection, negotiate contracts, and ensure the timely procurement of seasonal fruits. If you have strong industry knowledge and a proven track record in procurement and supplier management, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily procurement of fresh fruits directly from farmers, ensuring consistent supply and quality.
- Managing farmers data and production details.
- Collect and analyze daily price intelligence from mandis and farm sources to inform purchasing decisions and pricing strategy.
- Devise and implement effective sourcing strategies to ensure cost-efficiency, quality, and supply continuity.
- Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
- Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
- Collection of Data related to yield of Fruits & total production for the season.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
- Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
- Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
- Control procurement spending and promote a culture of long-term cost-saving and strategic sourcing.
Requirements & Skills
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Graduate or preferable from education background from supply chain management, logistics or business administration
- Industry Experience: At lease 3 years in Fresh Fruits procurement
Technical Expertise:
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in MS Office
- Analytical Skills: Self-learner and motivated. Should be ready to learn on the job
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in day-to-day work
Soft Skills:
- Process Excellence: Good market knowledge & interaction with Farmers.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently
